Fantasy Premier League is back || Initial FPL draft to help you build the team

We are back! So does FPL. Yes after a long summer break. World Cup is over and it was a great experience for everyone who watched it. Now we are a day far off to new Premier League season, we can’t wait for it to get started.

This time around the transfer window closed one day before season start. Lots of players coming in and going out. Now we know that nobody can come in the premier league until winter transfer window. Sure they can go out till 31st August to other leagues.

Now let’s cut to the chase. Have you created your fantasy premier league team yet? If you haven’t then don’t worry we are here to help you out. I have created a private mini league that you can join and also share your thoughts in the comments section regarding your team selection for the start of the season.

Team building factors

I am going to show you my initial draft which might change in the last hour because of any last minute news, but not much. I have taken into consideration factors such as fixtures, rest, injury, starting XI possibility, number of minutes the player could possibly have, the morale of the team and of course my own gut feeling.

If you look at the defensive options you would not feel excited and rightly so.

The main focus is to build this team for 3 to 4 game weeks. Looking at Manchester City fixtures it is quite hard to look past Aguero and Sane/De Bryune in the midfield. I was tempted to look for a city defender but the budget was a constraint.

Formation

3-5-2 is the most popular formation that I used last season but few budget players have been classified as strikers in this FPL 18-19 season such as Zaha, Arnautovic. So decided to go with 3-4-3 to start the season off.

Must-Have Players

Must have players looking at the fixtures were Mo Salah, Aguero, Zaha, Sane and Van AanHolt. If you wish to exclude Salah then you can work with other options as well but I do not want to take that risk because he is owned by almost 55% of the players so it won’t affect badly even if he doesn’t score.

Other Options

Other midfielders you can look at are Sanchez, Eriksen, Ozil, David Silva if you have the budget. Unfortunately, I do not have the budget. Eriksen has always provided great points at the start of the season to me.

You always want to look at budget options who has the potential to provide great value for your money. Like last season Pascal gross did. Yeah, I benched him once when he score whopping 18 points 🙁

Follow your instinct/gut

Always follow your gut feeling with 1 or 2 players because that will differentiate your team from the rest and you can climb in your mini-league by having such a strategy. Do not always follow what scout or I have to say, use your intuition to build your team.

Have Patience

My team strategy is to see whether this defense works or not till 3 to 4 game weeks if not then upgrade it by downgrading midfield option because you are likely to find out cheaper midfield option who is performing well.

Well, if all doesn’t work out we do have our Wildcard, but I hope we do not come across such a situation so early. Do not think more about bench players because you would want to maximize points from starting XI.

Good Luck to everyone ! I hope everyone has their team ready, if not then refer this article for guidance only because at the end of the day it’s you FPL team and it should be unique.

Can Liverpool beat Real Madrid ? || Liverpool Vs Real Madrid || Champions League Final 2018

Line Up

We are almost there. Yes, I am talking about Champions League Final 2018 which will be in the capital of Ukraine (Kyiv). Many of us must be wondering ‘Can Liverpool beat Real Madrid ?’ to deny them their third consecutive champions league title.

The answer is easy “They Can“, but Real Question is “Will They”?

Let’s not look at ifs and buts. We should check out their expected line up and will try to analyze what both teams can do to win the champions league.

Liverpool vs Real Madrid Expected Line up

Line Up

This is the expected line up on Saturday.

For Real Bale might start given his recent form in La Liga, but Benzema also scored in the semi-final against Bayern. So it’s difficult to predict.

Overall we expect all the players that we have mentioned to be in there.

Tactical Analysis

Marcelo vs Mo Salah-

As always Marcelo is going to exploit the attacking space when Real Madrid has the ball. It will be a tough test for Trent Alexander Arnold to defend against him. Marcelo probably the best left back in the world right now.

He is skillful and wonderful at crossing the ball. He has shown glimpses of his skills in the semi-final against Bayern when he executed that roll over with Rabona ground pass. He scores goals also with his fantastic left foot.

But the key battle is when they lose possession higher up the field and Mo Salah has free space to run into. He will be up against best CB in the world in the name of Ramos.

First Marcelo needs to deal with Mo Salah to nullify his threat going forward. It will be interesting to see how this battle pans out.

When Liverpool has the ball Marcelo will be in the right position. At that time he has to deal with Mo Salah’s pace to stop him.

But I wonder Mo Salah will be taking CF position more often than not as Firmino plays false 9 dropping deep.

We Know both teams are not going to park the bus so they will be having plenty of free space to exploit.

Firmino Vs Ramos –

Ramos would be having dilemma when Marcelo goes higher up the field. He has to deal with Firmino and Salah. Of course, he would be getting help from Casemiro and Varane.

When Firmino drops deep then he might drag Ramos out of his position and provide Salah dangerous space to run into to score goals.

The same thing can be applied to Sadio Mane as Madrid might be focusing on Salah. Mane can take advantage of this. In the end, it is champions league final so Madrid won’t be underestimating any Liverpool player at all.

Role of Casemiro is very important to Madrid’s defense and Firmino’s playing style. He has to perform as he had performed in last year’s final. He needs to take care of his ball control because sometimes he looks vulnerable on that front.

Ronaldo vs Lovren/Van Dijk-

Biggest player of this occasion to grace the game. He has been phenomenal in this competition over the years breaking all sorts of records.

He plays more of a central role, waits for crosses to come in from Marcelo and Carvajal for headers.

Depending on the position, it will be testing times for Van Dijk and Lovren. Ronaldo will be looking to exploit Lovren’s defensive weakness.

Having said that Liverpool can not overlook Isco’s magical passes between the lines as they can open up any defense in split seconds.

Midfield Battle-

Though I am a Liverpool fan, I have to admit that Real Madrid’s midfield is the scariest in the world.

I mean look at Modric, Kroos, Isco and defensive holding midfielder as Casemiro.

They are hard to tackle and press as they work so well with each other with accurate passing between them.

Isco creates attacking threat all the time when he interlinks play. Modric with his range of passing has been magical at times. Most efficient and underrated is Toni Kroos as he controls the game so well.

I wonder if Liverpool would be able to press them aggressively or not. These players are least prone to make mistakes such as loosing ball in the dangerous area other than Casermiro.

On the other side, Liverpool has Milner, Henderson and Gini Winaldum. All three are great at pressing the opposition. Gini Winaldum is physically strong and can take out ball from an opponent. These players are the engine of the Liverpool team.

This is the area where the game will be won or lost by both teams. These midfield three are essential to set the platform for Liverpool’s deadly front three. They will be up against best midfield in the world. It will be fascinating to witness how this battle unfolds.

Counter Attacking +Pressing + Heavy Metal  Vs  Efficiency + Deadly striking + Experience

Yes, you read it right. It’s gonna be a blockbuster of the Champions League final. When you have two exciting teams playing the game of football.

Liverpool with Pace, Counterattack, Pressing and Heavy metal attitude will be a challenging giant in the competition with experience, efficiency, and deadly striking.

When you combine all that, you are certain you will be seeing lots of goals.

We hope that both teams should go at each other and provide everyone the best experience with their scintillating and breathtaking football.

As a Liverpool supporter, I want Liverpool to win but Real is a very strong team and it is going to be a hell of the task to beat the Zidane’s team in the Champions League Final 2018.

FA Cup 2018 Final Preview || Chelsea Vs Manchester United || Conte Vs Mourinho

Is it Conte vs Mourinho ? or is it Chelsea vs Manchester United? If you had asked this question year earlier then, people would have said it’s Conte vs Mourinho. This time it’s going to be a clash between two heavyweights for FA CUP 2018. Both teams need this FA Cup trophy so that they can show something to their fans.

Who wants it more?

The real question is who wants it more. If Chelsea loses this FA Cup Final then surely they have nothing to show for. Manchester United has secured champions league qualification. They have second place in the premier league table, but shock defeat to Sevilla in champions league quarterfinals has hurt them a lot.

It is really strange to compare both team’s season on the basis of that. One thing is certain Chelsea were miserable in the premier league this season.

Chelsea’s miserable Premier League Season

Chelsea lost to Crystal Palace, West Ham, Bournemouth, Watford and Newcastle in the last game. Major Problem has been for them is in front. Nobody took the responsibility to score goals in crucial moments.

Even Cesc Fabregas criticized publically about the lack of goals up front and maybe he was taking a dig at Morata.

Alvaro Morata started the season with a great optimism for Chelsea but after returning back from his injury he has not picked himself up. He falls down too easily many times. Premier League is physical and you have to adapt to that.

He was always second fiddle to somebody in big clubs like Real Madrid and Juventus. Now he is the man at Chelsea and he has failed to live up those expectations.

I still rate him highly as a player but he needs to work on his mental side of the game, needs to toughen himself up. I still think that Conte made the biggest mistake by selling Diego Costa, who was very instrumental in their title-winning campaign.

It would have helped Morata to perform better if Costa had been involved in this season.

Manchester United’s Football Philosophy and criticism

This season Manchester United finished second in the premier league with 81 points. If anyone looks at this finish after a 5-6 season at United, they would be happy in terms of position.

But big talking point was their Football and Mourinho’s philosophy. It is really hard to compare which one is better finishing second vs playing ‘not so entertaining’ football.

Theoretically, you can win the league by scoring 38 goals with all 1-0 wins, anyone would take that if it happens. This does not mean that 1-0 wins are not entertaining and 5-4 games are entertaining.

The way team plays football is what counts to decide if it’s entertaining or not. If they are creative up front and passing in between the lines with fluidity then it’s exciting to watch. Every football fan wants that.

If the team defends well with great tackles and maintaining proper shape then it’s great to watch.

I think it’s a combination of both that makes a solid team and Manchester United fans certainly want attacking philosophy at times. If they are playing against strong opposition, leading by 1 goal and less time remaining in the game then it’s understandable to sit back and close the game out.

Expected Playing XI-

This should be the expected line up of the FA Cup Final 2018.

Morata could play ahead of Giroud is the only concern here, as Conte has a tough task to make the decision to include him in starting XI.

Lukaku was injured and doubtful but in a big game like this, he is going to be there for Manchester United.

If Matic and Hererra play together then it will be great for Paul Pogba as he enjoys going forward and he is at his best when he joins the attack. Matic and Hererra would provide him that defensive cushion that Pogba needs.

Sanchez has to step his game as he can become a first player to score in FA CUP final consecutively for two different teams. Lingard has come good for Manchester United this season and he will be hoping to finish this season on a high.

Rashford has great potential to come from the bench with Martial same goes for Pedro with Chelsea.

Summary

Looking at both teams and their forms, Manchester United looks favorite to win this clash. Chelsea needs to put their best performance of the season to clinch this coveted FA CUP 2018 trophy.

Whatever the result may be, we hope to see exciting final at Wembley. Let’s hope that FA CUP Final 2018 will be more entertaining than Royal Wedding.

FPL final game week 38 selection || FPL Tips || Get ahead in your Mini League

Will Sterling Play today ? This is the biggest question all the fantasy managers of the premier league will be having today.

Yeah, it’s a tough one to judge as Manchester City will be rotating their squad. They would love to provide an opportunity to their young talent.

Sterling missed out last match as he was not even on the bench. Here we have made a draft of players for the final game week of the premier league season.

We have looked at multiple factors while considering those players.

Relegation Battle –

It is very difficult to over come difference of 10 goals for Swansea. Yes Southampton could get battered by Manchester City tonight.

Swansea will be in attacking mode only, as they will be relegated even if they win with small margin. It would be a shock of the season if Swansea beat Stoke by 5 goals and Southampton lose by 5 goals against City.

So it would be wise if we consider one the Swansea attacker for this game week. Ayew brothers provide great option with Tammy Abraham. At least they will be in starting XI for sure.

On the other hand, Southampton will be parking everything they have got against City. They have no choice but to defend well as City is chasing those mammoth 100 points.

If you have Southampton attackers then you should get rid of them. Yes they can score if they concede early 3-4 goals. Personally I am getting rid of Austin.

Recently Stoke got relegated and Charlie Adam hit out in public against his team mates. I wonder that might affect team on final game week. They might end up losing by 3 to 4 goals.

( BBB Radio Article – Charlie Adam says ” Players are responsible for this debacle “)

Whatever happens but choose your fantasy team according to those conditions. It is very important to pick out such players to get ahead in your mini league.

Who will finish in TOP 4 ?

Liverpool made it interesting by losing against Chelsea. Chelsea also made it interesting against Huddersfield. I wonder what will happen on a final game day.

Reds need to secure at least a draw against Brighton at Anfield. Chelsea need a win and hope Liverpool lose against Brighton.

That’s a good news for fantasy managers. They can pick Liverpool players as they will be playing with usual suspects.

Salah, Mane and Firmino will look to repeat their performance against Brighton as they hammered them in the reverse fixture. Firmino scored a brace that night against Brighton.

Liverpool’s home form has been great this season as they are unbeaten at Anfield.

Chelsea need to go all out for win too. Giroud could be the differential pick in your fantasy team as he is having low ownership around 3.5%

Newcastle will be up against lot of attacking threats from Chelsea. Dubravka could really provide save points. This guy saved a penalty in the previous game also.

Salah vs Kane

As focus will be on securing champions league spot for Liverpool. Salah is leading goal scoring chart with 31 goals and he needs only a goal to break the all time record. ( Record 38 game season – 31 goals )

Tottenham already secured champions league place and Kane is 3 goals behind Mo Salah. He is facing leicester City at home in the last game of the season.

Remember last season Kane scored 4 goals against same opposition at King Power stadium. It was second last match of the season.

Kane’s goal scoring numbers in last three season depicts some pattern

  • 2016-17   29 goals
  • 2015-16   25 goals
  • 2014-15   21 goals

If you forecast then he should score 33 goals and he loves scoring against Leicester too.

Well it is almost impossible to predict this but anyone can then it’s Harry Kane.

I just hope Salah gets a brace to keep Kane away from Golden boot.

Final Game week XI Selection

This is the team I have selected for final game week of the season. This is not my team. I have some players from it. We hope you can opt out for 5-6 players from this team at least.

I am currently at 2204 points in FPL. ( Check out my FPL team – My FPL Team )

Captain Choice-

If it’s going down to the wire in your mini league then it’s very important decision of this fantasy season for you.

You should not make ridiculous captain choices if you are topping the chart. I have benefited from that through out this season. Keep the faith in Salah and Kane.

If you are lagging behind then go for Aubameyang , Hazard or Jesus. Always have 1-2 differential picks in your team.

Differential Picks –

Arnautovic, Van Aanholt, Gudmundsson, Romero and Ayew brothers etc.

Hope you find this article useful. I wish every one best of luck for the final game week of the season. May you come out on top in your mini fantasy league.

As the biggest question remains will sterling play today ? I am definitely not picking him up.

Let me know, if you think I should consider other players for the final game week. if yes then comment below.

I would love to know those players.
